Pressure To Win

I’m not sure if Mike Norvell and the old coaching staff got too comfortable after going undefeated and winning the ACC, but they all got massive raises, and everything seemed to plummet afterwards.

There is a natural sense to relax after finally accomplishing something big, but they don’t have that luxury this year. Mike Norvell knows the only reason he wasn’t fired after last season was that his buyout was a ridiculous amount of money.

His buyout dropped a tad, but it’s still monstrous. However, the FSU faithful will not settle for another season like last year. There is massive pressure to make a bowl and win at least seven games.

Would they fire Mike Norvell if he went 6-6? I’m not sure, but I bet you he’s not willing to find out. FSU has at least four gimme wins on the schedule, so they’d only need to win three more games to reach seven, which doesn’t seem impressive. It’s not the standard at FSU, and I think Mike Norvell is desperate to win.

It’s why he fired and hired a bunch of new coaches and why they went the route they went in the transfer portal.
