The beginning of the 2025 Early Signing Period couldn't have gone much better for FSU football head coach Mike Norvell.

FSU caught some momentum late Tuesday night with two commitments, entering Wednesday with the No. 38 recruiting class nationally.

The sentiment among fans was that FSU would likely lose its top two commitments, possibly more, and not any realistic targets remaining that would move the needle.

It felt like FSU was playing defense while trying to fill some needs with capable bodies before waiting to get what it could from the transfer portal when it opens next week.

The morning started extremely slow, with FSU not announcing a single signing in the first hour. Things began to go as planned, with FSU announcing a few guys we knew they'd keep, but some buzz started with Ousmane Kromah potentially flipping from Georgia. FSU flipped and Auburn and USF commit, as they moved in the afternoon.

Kromah eventually announced he would sign with FSU. FSU kept the top 100 player nationally, Kevin Wynn, from flipping, and it was off to the races.

FSU lost its highest-rated recruit, Solomon Thomas, but that was expected once Alex Atkins was fired. FSU finished with a couple more flips and ended the day with the No. 25 recruiting class nationally and 18 signees. Let's get into the five major takeaways from the day.
