The FSU offense was the area where I had the biggest concerns going into the Alabama game. However, that unit might have had the fewest number of mistakes on Saturday afternoon.
They only punted three times, only had five incomplete passes, and didn’t turn the ball over. They had explosive plays on the ground and through the air. The offense converted five of 12 third-down conversions and was two-for-two on fourth down conversions.
I’ve mentioned it since the game ended, but Gus Malzahn was in his bag with so many different variations from different formations. The execution was at a high level. Check out these clips:

A thread 🧵
1) Fake “check with me”
Snap the ball as offense looks towards sideline. Boggs couldn’t hang on to the catch but the split second delay by the defense caused a defensive holding and first down. pic.twitter.com/mkqhxfgCgQ
If FSU can stay healthy and execute at this level all year, they’ll easily average over 35 points per game. As good as the offense was, there were some areas where we need to see some massive improvements. Here are my top three that would have blown Alabama off the map.
