Florida State fans finally have some clarity on the Desir Twins saga. They officially entered the transfer portal on Wednesday after several days of threatening to enter while negotiating with FSU.

They were two of a handful of players that FSU fans didn’t want to see enter the transfer portal before it opened on January 2nd. However, the way they (or their agents) handled negotiations has most FSU fans saying good riddance:

It'll be interesting to see if the Desir Twins live up to how much they were asking for at their new home.

FSU was proactive for once and gave the Desir Twins more money towards the end of the season with new deals that they agreed to. Those deals contained buyout language that will now cost whoever signs them some major money that will have to be paid to FSU.

It was a smart move on FSU’s part, and although it may not deter all players from entering the portal, it could give some pause.

It was a smart move on FSU’s part, and although it may not deter all players from entering the portal, it could give some pause.  Interestingly enough, the same agency that represents the twins and Lawayne McCoy saw all three players enter the transfer portal. McCoy signed with Louisville, so we’ll see where the twins end up. The early signs point towards Ohio State.

The twins entering the portal helps free up some money they can use to try and find replacements. FSU retained highly rated Kevin Wynn earlier on Wednesday, which was a big win for the staff.

Now, we wait to see who they can close with over the next couple of days.
