The way some Florida State football players have been acting on social media and by how they are negotiating with FSU behind the scenes, it’s not hard to notice a player who seems like they really want to rock the FSU colors.
South Alabama cornerback Nehemiah Chandler was the first player to commit to the Noles once the transfer portal opened. He posted about how excited he was to be a Nole as soon as he committed on social media, and has been vocal about some guys he’d like to play with in Tallahassee.
One of those players might be Southern Mississippi linebacker Chris Jones, and Chandler feels like FSU is in a good position to land him, according to this social media post:
SBC TO ACC 🍢

FSU needs dogs on the roster and these two together would be nice additions on the FSU defense.
Jones played in the Sunbelt Conference (SBC) for context to the reference in Chandler’s tweet. Jones expects to visit FSU on Friday when the dead period ends. Jones is a highly productive linebacker who is a major position of need for FSU.
Who knows, things could change between now and next year, but the energy Chandler has on social media seems close to the energy he plays with on the field. He plays with a dog mentality, and that’s something FSU lost after the third season of the game last year, for whatever reason.
I just want to thank God for everything, took a lot of sacrifices! But I stayed patient and kept my head down! It’s Always light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s Work Nole Family🍢🔒

Chandler and Jones have multiple years of eligibility remaining, and again, things can change in an instant with the transfer portal. However, FSU needs guys who can play and want to be in Tallahassee. A Jones commitment would be a nice positive for a less than stellar transfer portal recruiting cycle.
