Not only did FSU win big time on the field against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. The Noles won off the field with a massive TV rating. The FSU-Alabama game drew a massive 10.7 million viewers, only second behind the Miami-Notre Dame game on Sunday night with 10.8 million viewers.
However, Miami-Notre Dame was the only college football game on Sunday night, and FSU-Alabama was up against several other ongoing games.

Why is this a big deal? Well, millions got to see FSU football play at an incredible level. However, more importantly, part of the settlement with the ACC lawsuit is that FSU will earn more money because they are the largest brand when it comes to TV viewership in the ACC.
FSU no longer has to equally split money with the lowly likes of Wake Forest, Boston College, and others.

This is a massive number, and Alabamaβs brand helps, no question. However, FSU going up early in the game and folks wondering if the Noles could pull off the huge upset probably earned a few more eyeballs as the game progressed.
The big win sets up FSU for another chance to see solid numbers as the standalone game on Friday, September 26th, against Virginia. A win against Virginia sets up a massive game against rival Miami the following week, which could be a potential top-10 matchup.
FSU has two more potential massive matchups against the Clemson Tigers and the Florida Gators. If the Noles continue to play well, they will likely easily be the most viewed brand in the ACC in 2025. That potentially means millions more than they would have earned under the old contract with the ACC.
That money will help keep FSU competitive with schools in the SEC/B1G until they can finally exit the ACC. The brand pulling large numbers like this make FSU very attractive to a new potential home
