FSU will travel to Louisville to play the Cardinals in a Friday night game on October 9 and there's a good chance they'll see a lot of former wide receiver Lawayne McCoy.Â
McCoy, now a junior, transferred to Louisville in the offseason and has been one of the big bright spots for Louisville this spring. In Friday's spring game, McCoy hauled in a touchdown and gave the people a early glimpse of his celebration dance.Â

"Y'all can be expecting that dance all year," McCoy exclaimed in his post-game interview.
McCoy was a solid performer for the Seminoles last year. The Miami native had 27 catches for 396 yards and three touchdowns in seven starts after missing a few games early in the season while recovering from an injury. McCoy probably felt like he was ready to take on a No. 1/2 type role at wideout and with Duce Robinson and Micahi Danzy returning, it wasn't going to happen in Tallahassee.
Lawayne McCoy has found his footing with Louisville
It's understandable why McCoy would leave FSU and I don't think there were any hard feelings. He wanted a greater role and I don't think he was crazy about the Seminoles' quarterback situation or the general passing offense. Besides, Robinson is going to get his balls and Danzy can influence a game in a number of ways. McCoy is more of a traditional receiver rather than a playmaker, so the Cardinals' offense probably fits better for the volume work he's looking for.
The good news is FSU is well positioned at wide receiver. Robinson is one of the top players in the conference. Danzy has All-ACC potential and freshman Devin Carter looks like a future star. As long as the likely starting quarterback, Ashton Daniels, ,can get them the ball, and that's still a big if, the receivers should be able tp produce.
But McCoy was a solid player here, and I expect he'll be a solid one at Louisville as well, with breakout potential. FSU fans just hope he doesn't have that breakout game on October 9.Â
