Florida State football has a good nucleus at the wide receiver position, with assistant coach Tim Harris Jr. leading the charge. Many fans didn't know what to expect from him, coming from UCF, but he has proved his worth on the recruiting trail.
The Seminoles grabbed six wide receivers in this 2026 cycle with four-star Jasen Lopez, four-star Devin Carter, four-star Efrem White, four-star Brandon Bennett, three-star Darryon Williams, and three-star Jonah Winston. This is a nice foundation to build around.
To make matters even better, Florida State was able to return pass catchers Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Jayvan Boggs, who will be pivotal for the Seminoles' passing game in 2026 for whichever quarterback wins the job.
Former Florida State wide receiver Camdon Frier signed with Tarleton State
Former wide receivers coach Ron Dugans had the fans excited, given that he was a former player and he was recruiting well during the 2024 cycle. He grabbed four-star prospects Lawayne McCoy, Elijah Moore, BJ Gibson, and Camdon Frier.
However, the class of receivers quickly fizzled out, as McCoy transferred to Louisville, Moore went to Syracuse, and Gibson changed sports to baseball. The only one left was Frier, who announced his intentions to enter the portal in the offseason.
This was expected since the former four-star prospect did not play much during his career, but the fans rooted for him since he was a legacy player.
It was announced on Wednesday afternoon by Tarleton State that Camdon Frier has signed with them.
Camdon Frier played the last two years at Florida State, appearing in four games this past season.

This could be a perfect destination for the pass catcher as he looks to make a name for himself. This is the reality of college football nowadays, where these young men try to get the most out of their opportunity. With Frier not playing, there was writing on the wall that he would transfer.
Even though he is from Lake City, Florida, I think the school in Texas could be a perfect destination for him to play well. We at ChopChat wish him nothing but the best in this new chapter of his journey.
