Florida State is set up nicely at the wide receiver position with the trio of Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Jayvan Boggs. However, programs can never have enough pass catchers to go around.
Assistant coach Tim Harris Jr. was recently promoted to offensive coordinator as the previous coach, Gus Malzahn, unexpectedly retired this offseason. Head coach Mike Norvell will be designated with the play-call duties. However, Norvell trusts Harris Jr. to thrive in his new dual-role of offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.
He has been a solid recruiter for the Seminoles, where Harris Jr. has brought in wide receiver prospects Jasen Lopez, Devin Carter, Brandon Bennett, Darryon Williams, EJ White, and Jonah Winston from the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Florida State has to pinpoint the wide receiver prospects that it wants from the 2027 cycle
Even though the 2026 prospects haven't taken an actual step in the Garnet and Gold, the importance of recruiting the position is paramount to a team's sustainable success. The Seminoles have to get a step on the 2027 recruiting class and schedule official visits for the summer.
Florida State has not landed a wide receiver prospect in the fold, but one name to monitor is four-star Jabari Watkins from Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Georgia. However, the Seminoles cannot lean on just getting Watkins. They likely need three prospects at the position in this class.
The coaching staff has already started scheduling official visits for June. One trip that the Seminole fans will have to monitor is four-star wide receiver prospect Anthony Jennings from Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Rivals' Chad Simmons put in a new prediction for Jennings to land at arch-rival Florida. The "new car smell" of the Gators having first-year head coach Jon Sumrall is probably a factor here in the recruitment. Fans probably need to share the video of Sumrall with the gator to show how awkward he is to deal with.
This would be a slot wide receiver that the Seminoles could lose. Florida State is supposed to host Jennings on an official visit during the June 19th weekend. With the Gators prediction, we will see if that trip even happens (if he commits to Florida).
