Florida State football had a productive 2025 recruiting class with several youngsters who could be productive stars for the future. The Seminoles had a 5-7 record, so it is harder to figure out if the players are even meaningful.
Head football coach Mike Norvell and this squad are already receiving skepticism because the last two years have been a disaster. This isn't the standard of college football, but we see a young defensive tackle in Kevin Wynn, who was supposed to be a starter next year.
This is not ideal for a defensive line that already lost the Desir Twins to the portal in that 2025 class that had fans excited about the group.
Jayvan Boggs is returning to the Seminoles for the 2026 season
Florida State had pieces in its receiver room, such as Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Lawayne McCoy that fans were confident about. Robinson and Danzy already announced that they would be back in 2026, but McCoy entered the portal.
Individuals were also frustrated by the fact that true freshman Jayvan Boggs entered the portal. The former four-star prospect was raved about by Duce Robinson in the preseason, where he classified him as an NFL player.
Boggs had a productive high school career at Cocoa, where he set records. He played in a few games for the Seminoles in 2025, but he dealt with injuries that eventually cost him meaningful playing time.
Even though the wide receiver didn't make much of a difference last year, fans still didn't want to see him go. Well, on Saturday night, On3's Hayes Fawcett announced that wide receiver Jayvan Boggs would be returning to the Seminoles in 2026.

This was a big get for Florida State to get him back for 2026. The Seminoles didn't use many receivers last year, other than Duce Robinson, and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn likes to run the football, but it helps to have talent on offense returning.
The sport of college football has turned into a money war. Buckle up because this is insane, and teams like Florida State will always have to deal with the leveraging of money.
