Florida State baseball should be pitching John Abraham in the Coastal Carolina game

This should be the correct move here by the Seminoles.

The Seminoles pitched Wes Mendes in the contest, and he had some of his best stuff that we have seen in a while. Florida State needed that outcome with their backs against the wall. The offense hasn't been perfect, but the unlikely home run by Cal Fisher was something that Seminole fans didn't expect.

Florida State is inside Dick Howser Stadium, and they need to finish the job in front of their home crowd. The fan base has had to sit through multiple rain delays and has tried to help uplift the team. They need to at least beat Coastal Carolina and force another matchup in the regional.

The Seminoles will have to figure out who is pitching when the Coastal Carolina game starts back up, and I believe that it should be relief pitcher John Abraham.

John Abraham could be the answer to Link Jarrett's plan on the mound for Florida State

I get that the Seminole fan base isn't thrilled about the idea of starting John Abraham on the mound after what they saw against St. John's. We also discussed how it was questionable to bring him against St. John's when he had been absent for a month due to injury.

However, Abraham has already faced adversity, and the Seminoles need his services. The senior was their best relief pitcher this season. He went 1.2 innings, where he allowed two hit on one earned run with two walks. Abraham lost his command on the mound, and it is understandable with the break.

This isn't his first rodeo as a college baseball pitcher. This was a humbling experience for Abraham, who had had so much success in the Garnet and Gold. I get that this is an elimination game, and you cannot hold out hope for Abraham to get right, but this would not be ideal to waste starting pitcher Trey Beard in this game.

The plan should be to pitch Beard in the next contest. Nonetheless, the Seminoles have to focus in and get the job done in the regional. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for the offense to generate a run or two to help the pitching staff out.
