Florida State coaches have been working hard on the 2027 high school recruiting class. We wrote about how they should only target certain positions out of high school, and one was the defensive end/EDGE position.
It looks like the hiring of FSU defensive end coach Nick Williams is paying off so far. He secured an official visit from one of the better blue-chip defensive ends in the 2027 recruiting class, Santana Harvey. The Lakeland, Florida, product announced the visit on his social media page on Thursday:

This player would be a nice addition to the 2027 recruiting class and help with a major position of need
Harvey lists at 6’5” and 220 pounds, which is an outstanding frame to build on. He ranks as the No. 311 player and No. 35 defensive end/Edge player nationally. He’s the son of a former Florida Gator player, Derrick Harvey, and he visited FSU in January for one of its Junior Days.
FSU was the first Power Four team to offer in January 2025 and got re-offered by Nick Williams last month. Clemson is the only other school that has an official visit set up with him, and it’ll be at the end of May.
FSU added a commitment from a blue-chip defensive end a couple of weeks ago, so it looks like they are prioritizing the position in the high school ranks.
Harvey will visit the first weekend in June, along with two other Florida State commits. It’s likely that FSU will want to secure him early in the process if they can. It also gives them a shot to see what Clemson offers and then go from there.
