FSU RECRUITING ON FIRE
Florida State football recruiting has been red-hot for the 2026 recruiting cycle as the Seminoles have continued to lure in highly-touted prospects to Tallahassee.
July has started to slow down a bit, but the program got just what they needed as five-star cornerback target Chauncey Kennon from Booker High School in Sarasota, Florida. The defensive back was one of the Seminoles' top targets in the entire cycle.
With Florida State grabbing Kennon, they are now ranked as the 11th-best recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite. This generated discussion for Florida State recruiting, where Hayes Fawcett even made a post talking positively about the Seminoles' efforts.

I am not here to write about Hayes Fawcett saying positive remarks on Florida State football recruiting, but I thought a particular quote tweet was more noteworthy.

Class of 2026 four-star defensive back Tedarius Hughes from Miami Northwestern High School in Miami, Florida, made the "We back" comment on Hayes Fawcett's after the Seminoles landed a variety of highly-touted prospects.
This is noteworthy that Hughes feels that way because the Syracuse Orange is continuing to push for his services. The Orange just landed a five-star prospect with wide receiver Calvin Russell, which has to sting for the hometown Miami Hurricanes.
The defensive back group is talented enough under the guidance of position coaches Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper. The position has five prospects that the Seminoles want to keep around.
However, I wouldn't say that Florida State is "back", especially since the Seminoles finished with a 2-10 record and recruiting has been something that is left with desire under Coach Norvell. I do like that Hughes is confident in their abilities.
