Florida State (17-14, 10-8 ACC) never trailed against the SMU Mustangs on Saturday afternoon en route to a dominating 91-78 win to end the regular season as one of the hottest teams in the country.

FSU will be the No. 8 seed in the ACC Tournament.

FSU played well as a team, but it was Chauncey Wiggins who was the star of the game. He finished with 31 points, making six of eight three-pointers and 10 of 14 shots overall. He also had nine rebounds, two steals, and two assists.

Robert McCray had a double-double with 17 points and 12 assists. Lajae Jones has 12 points and seven rebounds. The Noles shot 52 percent overall and 47 percent from three-point (16 of 34) land. They had 11 turnovers, and the only negative was that they made only 15 of 24 free throw attempts and were outrebounded. However, shooting at such a high percentage from three helped mitigate that area.

Defensively, they held SMU to 42 percent shooting overall and scored 23 points off of 14 SMU turnovers.

FSU had lost a close game to SMU earlier this season as they were beginning to second-half season turnaround. They won nine of their final 11 games, and those two losses were against future NCAA Tournament teams. FSU receive a first round bye and will face California as its first opponent. A win over California would pit the Noles against No. 1 Duke in their second matchup.

FSU is playing with house money at this point, and will assuredly receive an NIT bid if they won't win the ACC Tournament. Congrats to FSU and Luke Loucks on an excellent second-half to the season!
