Florida State baseball has had a solid 2026 campaign thus far, where they have an overall record of 15-3 (2-0 in the ACC). They are in their last game of the road series against a ranked Wake Forest team that they are looking to get the sweep against.
Head coach Link Jarrett needs to generate enough success in conference play, as they hope to get a coveted top-eight seed. This squad has performed well on the mound over the last two games, thanks to pitchers Trey Beard and Wes Mendes.
Coach Jarrett has to be pleased with the pitching so far, but the bats have been inconsistent at times. Luckily, they generated four hits on two runs because of the outputs by second baseman Eli Putnam and catcher Nathan Cmeyla.
Florida State baseball is looking for the series sweep against the Demon Deacons on Sunday
It is always important to get road conference wins, especially when they can capitalize on getting a series sweep. The Seminoles will be throwing right-handed pitcher Bryson Moore today.
Florida State will need to find a way to get two of its best hitters, Myles Bailey and Brody Delamielleure, involved because they had a combined seven strikeouts and zero hits during Saturday's matchup.
They are the Seminoles' limited source of power hitting, and Wake Forest will likely be playing determined not to get swept at home. The Demon Deacons have only been able to get four hits in two games as the favorite coming into the series.
It is nice to see Link Jarrett and his squad bounce back after the disappointing loss to arch-rival Florida in a weekday matchup. The next game that Florida State will have after Wake Forest will be Tuesday, March 17th, at 6 PM EST in Dick Howser Stadium against Bethune-Cookman on ACC Network Extra.
