Head baseball coach Link Jarrett and Florida State are fresh off a series sweep against North Kentucky, where the offense came alive. The Seminoles have rebounded nicely after their early-season losses to Auburn and Nebraska.
However, Florida State gets a tougher slate as they take on the arch-rival Florida Gators on the road tonight at 7:30 PM EST on SEC Network+. The Gators are coming off a series against High Point, where they were a four-run ninth-inning rally in the final game from getting swept in the series.
This means that Florida will come out with its best stuff against a rival during the midweek game in hopes of getting back on track. Coach Jarrett will have to ensure that the Seminoles don't take them lightly.
Florida State is still getting disrespected in the newest college baseball rankings
D1 Baseball dropped its newest college baseball rankings, and Florida State is listed at No. 20, while Florida is at No. 23.

This isn't to say that Florida State is a perfect product by any means, but the 13-2 record that the Seminoles possess should be enough for them to be a little bit higher.
However, I understand that Florida State has deficiencies that hold them back, such as a lack of power hitting in the lineup. The Seminoles only have 18 home runs through fifteen games this season (according to seminoles.com).
Myles Bailey and Brody Delamielleure are two players that the fan base should feel very confident in their abilities, if they stay healthy. When the offense is clicking on all cylinders, it is difficult for any team to stop them.
The Seminoles have only played one true road game, where they beat Jacksonville by a score of 13-8. It will be a whole different animal when they play in Gainesville, but Florida State desperately needs to connect on a couple of long shots to put the pressure on Florida to respond.
