K BRUNNO REUS

I remember head football coach Mike Norvell's introductory press conference, where he mentioned that special teams are a foundation of elite programs. Coach Norvell always wanted to emphasize that aspect of football.

The fan base loves to talk about the evolution of former kicker Ryan Fitzgerald during his tenure in Tallahassee. There were times when individuals gave up on Fitzgerald, but you know who didn't give up on him? Coach Norvell.

This speaks to the confidence that he has in his specialists. I know that that redshirt freshman kicker Jake Weinberg will be the projected starter during the 2025 season, but summer enrollee Brunno Reus from Venice, Florida, has a booming leg that can be a weapon.

Reus had to be lured away from USF like Poret. Fans don't think much about kickers, but they are important when you need them the most.
