This is an excellent foundation to build around.

Florida State football did not have the 2025 campaign that it wanted after accumulating a 5-7 record. This was including the fact that the Seminoles started the year with three straight wins. The disappointment was felt amongst the coaching staff, players, and the fan base.

The standard needs to be upheld, and the best way to do that is acquiring talent on the roster. It all starts in high school recruiting. Head football coach Mike Norvell used to be known for his pickups in the transfer portal. However, we know that in today's landscape of college football, there has to be a solid mix of recruits and transfers to be successful.

The Seminoles finished with the fourteenth-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. The fan base wants to see a top-ten class, but that hasn't happened in the Mike Norvell era.

One position group that delivered during the Early Signing Period was the wide receiver core. The Seminoles added four-star Jasen Lopez, four-star Devin Carter, four-star Brandon Bennett, four-star Efrem White, three-star Jonah Winston, and three-star Darryon Williams.

Wide receivers coach Tim Harris Jr. expressed his excitement on social media.

This shouldn't be a situation where the fan base is thinking that Coach Harris is blowing smoke. This group of pass catchers have a chance to be a special group. The one that attracts a ton of attention is Jasen Lopez.

During his time at the powerhouse of Chaminade-Madonna Prep, he recorded 1,000 receiving yards in all four of his years in high school (stats found via MaxPreps). Plus, it doesn't hurt that he can play point guard on the basketball team to help Coach Loucks and the guys.

Even if the ultra-talented Duce Robinson declares for the NFL Draft, the Seminoles are set up for success in the future. The future is bright in Tallahassee.
