Florida State football has been active this offseason with the additions of Gus Malzahn, Tim Harris Jr., Herb Hand, Tony White, Terrance Knighton, and Evan Cooper to the assistant coaching staff. Head football coach Mike Norvell said that there would be major changes, and he was not lying.

The Seminoles went 2-10 this past year, and most individuals understand that it is not the standard at Florida State. The assistant coaching staff had to change (CHECK) and recruits/transfers would need to be added to the roster (CHECK).

The Seminoles are far from finished on the transfer portal. However, Florida State has got commitments from quarterback Thomas Castellanos, tight end Markeston Douglas, and linebacker Stefon Thompson.

There are more transfers on their radar that we have discussed, such as a huge target in Nebraska's defensive end, James Williams. I will say that Florida State has suddenly been getting a ton of UCF and Nebraska transfers. Should we be called the Florida State Knights or the Florida State Cornhuskers?

There is another transfer to monitor as UCF sophomore Randy Pittman is on a visit at Florida State today. Pittman has recorded 51 receptions for 631 yards and three touchdowns during his two seasons with the Knights. He was once a Seminole commit at one time.

I believe that the coaching staff would use Pittman as a hybrid receiver/tight end. I am a big fan of him potentially coming to Florida State to play because I think he could be a huge mismatch nightmare for opposing linebackers and safeties.

I know that fans are wondering why Florida State is monitoring so many tight-end prospects with Landen Thomas, Amaree Williams, and four-star signee Chase Loftin on the roster. But the coaching staff did indicate that Williams would be working at defensive end this offseason.

If Pittman did commit to Florida State, I wonder if that would impact the coaching staff taking Louisiana tight end transfer Terrance Carter, who is expecting to visit on Monday.
