FSU baseball (29-7, 11-4 ACC) will resume action Tuesday afternoon when they host the Stetson Hatters. FSU had great momentum, winning its last four games before the school shooting last week forced the Noles to cancel its ACC series against Virginia.
The Noles have 14 regular-season games remaining, including nine ACC games against teams in the top 25:
- Clemson: No. 2 national ranking (No. 7 RPI)
- North Carolina: No. 8 national ranking (No. 8 RPI)
- Louisville: No. 19 national ranking (No. 18 RPI)
The Noles will travel to Louisville this weekend before hosting Clemson and North Carolina in the coming weeks.
FSU remains No. 4 nationally after not playing over the weekend with a No. 10 RPI ranking according to most outlets.

The Noles have Stetson (No. 81 RPI) and Jacksonville (No. 92 RPI) remaining in the non-conference and three ACC games on the West Coast against Cal (No. 82 RPI).
The goal is always to win the series to emulate post-season play. FSU didn't blow through its schedule last year, splitting games with NC State, losing a series to Pittsburgh, and losing to Stetson in the midweek.
However, the Noles rebounded to win its series against Georgia Tech in the regular-season finale and defeated three ranked teams in the ACC Tournament before losing to a ranked Duke team in the ACC Tournament Finals to secure the final top 8 seed spot.
FSU will face a similar gauntlet over the next few weeks with a team with different strengths. They don't have quite the offensive firepower as last year but potentially have better starting pitching when everyone's at their best.
These next few weeks will tell us a lot about this FSU baseball team. If they can go 10-4 or better, that would be outstanding and likely secure a top-eight seed for the postseason and host games at Dick Howser Stadium through Super Regionals(if they progress that far).
