QB THOMAS CASTELLANOS

I wanted to start with an obvious one. Whether you like it or not, the quarterback position can make or break your season. As you saw last season, veteran transfer DJ Uiagalelei did not perform up to expectations.

Former Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos was brought in by the coaching staff via the transfer portal. Castellanos recorded 1,366 passing yards and 18 touchdowns with five interceptions. New head football coach Bill O'Brien did not seem to utilize Castellanos's skill set as a dual-threat option.

I know that a ton of fans of Castellanos entered the transfer portal before Boston College ended their season due to benching him in favor of Grayson James. I realize that the new quarterback is not the greatest at his accuracy with short to intermediate throws, but his legs are what makes him enticing.

This is a very impactful transfer that head football coach Mike Norvell and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn have to hit on to be successful in 2025.
