DB JAMARI HOWARD
Florida State had three defensive backs going to the NFL or graduating, such as Azareye'h Thomas, Fentrell Cypress II, and Kevin Knowles II.
I realize that I could have selected so many viable playmakers, especially some of the defensive backs that played last season like Shyheim Brown, Earl Little Jr., Quindarrius Jones, KJ Kirkland, Ashlynd Barker, and Ja'Bril Rawls.
Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has done a tremendous job of acquiring many talented members of the secondary, especially in the 2024 recruiting cycle. I get that Charles Lester III is getting a ton of attention after being in the news for the wrong reasons, but I want to focus on one of his classmates, Jamari Howard.
Howard was a former four-star prospect from Miami, Florida, a lanky cornerback that strikes fear in opposing wide receivers. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason. However, it looks like the redshirt freshman has been healing up and training this offseason to be a featured piece in 2025, with the position wide open.
I expect Howard to not back down in competition and make some noise in spring practices to give himself a chance to be in the rotation for the 2025 season.
