I had FSU football at the top half of my preseason ACC Power Rankings, and so far so good after 10 weeks.

FSU football defeated Miami for the third consecutive year and Miami fans have tried to spin it as a moral victory. The game wasn’t as close as the final score, considering Miami couldn’t move the ball past midfield for the entire second half aside from one play.

North Carolina got some help from the referees to beat Duke in overtime. Louisville likely clinched their spot in the ACC Championship with a close win over Virginia.

Duke had North Carolina beat on the road, but probably got shafted by ACC refs, but what else is new. Virginia Tech blasted Boston College and is one win away from reaching bowl eligibility.

Clemson reached bowl eligibility with a big win over Georgia Tech. NC State rolled Wake Forest and Syracuse beat Pitt to get within one game of bowl eligibility.

Anyways, here are my updated rankings after week 11:

  1. FSU football
  2. Louisville
  3. North Carolina
  4. Duke
  5. Clemson (+4)
  6. NC State (+2)
  7. Boston College (-1)
  8. Georgia Tech (-1)
  9. Miami (-1)
  10. Virginia Tech
  11. Virginia
  12. Wake Forest
  13. Syracuse
  14. Pittsburgh

Thoughts

We know it’ll likely be FSU vs. Louisville in the ACCCG unless they lose to Miami and UNC beats Clemson. At this point, it’s who’s trying to gain wins to become bowl eligible.

The Noles will play an out-of-conference game against North Alabama as they look to get healthy to play Florida in the regular season finale. Boston College will travel to Pitt on Thursday night and Miami will host Louisville Saturday at noon. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Louisville roll Miami after the Canes lost their Super Bowl against FSU.

Duke will travel to Virginia and North Carolina travels to Death Valley to face Clemson. Virginia Tech will host NC State in hopes to become bowl eligible and Syracuse will travel to Georgia Tech looking to do the same thing.
