FSU football has already made its mark on the college football recruiting landscape by having the fourth-best recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. However, this coaching staff is certainly not done acquiring highly-touted prospects to its fold of prospects.

On Friday afternoon, Class of 2024 four-star cornerback Jamari Howard from Miami, Florida made it official that he would be committed to the Florida State Seminoles. This was a tremendous acquisition for an already loaded secondary haul for the Seminoles.

First-year defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has made his presence known on the recruiting trail as well as on the football field. On the gridiron, his secondary has only allowed four passing touchdowns all season. As for the recruiting trail, the Seminoles have already landed five-star safety KJ Bolden, five-star cornerback Charles Lester III, four-star cornerback Ricky Knight III, and four-star safety CJ Heard.

It is beginning to look frightening in Tallahassee for opposing offenses now that they have decided to add Howard to the mix. The talented defensive back was once committed to Michigan State, but he elected to de-commit from the program on May 13th. This allowed other programs to get involved with Howard, specifically Florida State. He unofficially visited the Seminoles when they faced off against the LSU Tigers in Orlando on September 3rd (where they won the game by a score of 45-24).

The coaching staff has been able to generate loads of success on the recruiting trail because of their ability to showcase a promising product on the football field. During the first two seasons of the Norvell era, the Seminoles went 8-13 in their first 21 games under their new head coach. However, Florida State has really started to show the college football world what they are all about as they have won 19 of their last 22 games.

This acquisition of the South Florida native was vital to the future foundation of the foundation, given that the Seminoles will lose current players such as Renardo Green, Jarrian Jones, and Akeem in the secondary after this season.
