FSU football: Noles currently listed as 23-point favorites versus Pittsburgh
FSU football defeated the Wake Forest Demon Deacons by a score of 41-16 this past Saturday. This marks the first time the Seminoles have defeated the Demon Deacons since 2018 when Florida State beat them in Doak Campbell Stadium by a score of 38-17.
The Seminoles will now face the Pittsburgh Panthers on ESPN this Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM EST. The Panthers have struggled this season, possessing a 2-6 record. They just lost to No. 12 Notre Dame by a score of 58-7. Unfortunately, their head football coach Pat Narduzzi made headlines after making the following statement in the post-game conference:
"We lost a lot of good players last year. We thought we’d replace them and we obviously didn’t do a good job with that."
This quote by Narduzzi did not sit well with a couple of current players on the Pittsburgh roster as they retweeted their displeasure with the statement. This could be a football team that is ready to give up on their season. The Seminoles could put the Pittsburgh Panthers at risk of losing bowl eligibility for the first time since 2017.
There have been instances where Florida State has not played a full 60-minute performance this season. They have oftentimes allowed opposing teams to remain in contests, given their cold spurts on the offensive end. However, the Seminoles are still regarded as one of the best teams in college football.
Head football coach Mike Norvell and company understand that Pittsburgh will be trying to rectify their season with a massive upset. According to DraftKings, the Florida State Seminoles are listed as 23-point favorites in their road matchup. Especially, considering that FSU will be playing their arch-rival Miami Hurricanes next week in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
This could serve as a look ahead spot for the Seminoles if they are not careful. This football team has aspirations of making it to the ACC Championship Game (will clinch the opportunity with a win) and a potential College Football Playoff appearance. Hopefully, FSU understand the task at hand and handle their business.
