Four-star DL LJ McCray

Let’s start with the only official visitor of the weekend in 2024 four-star defensive lineman LJ McCray from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida. The talented defender has had his fair share of official visits over the summer with schools such as Florida, Miami, Auburn, and Georgia.

However, the Daytona Beach (FL) native decided to save the best for last with the Florida State Seminoles. While it was a bold strategy to schedule an official visit this late in the process, it could pay dividends for a 2024 recruiting class that needs more defensive linemen in the fold (only have four-star defensive end DD Holmes and three-star defensive tackle Jamorie Flagg committed to the program).

If McCray enjoys his visit, it could be just what he needs to see to ultimately commit to head football coach Mike Norvell and company.
