FSU football is preparing for its home matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday, October 7th at 3:30 p.m. This will be the Seminoles’ first game back in Doak Campbell Stadium since they defeated the Southern Miss Golden Eagles back on September 9th by a score of 66-13.

The Seminoles are coming off a much-needed bye week, which followed their emotional road overtime victory over the Clemson Tigers by a score of 31-24. However, this is a new week, and head football coach Mike Norvell and company have to remain focused as the Hokies come into town.

While the Seminoles are 23.5-point favorites, they cannot underestimate the ability of the Hokies. They are coming off a massive win over the Pittsburgh Panthers last week by a score of 38-21. Quarterback Kyron Drones was a dynamic weapon in their offense where he recorded 269 total yards and five touchdowns

In this matchup, the Seminoles’ defensive unit will have to contain the likes of Drones and make an effort to secure open-field tackles. The offense will have to generate big-play opportunities with quarterback Jordan Travis and running back Trey Benson (Hokies allow 177.6 rushing yards per game).

CHOPCHAT STAFF SCORE PREDICTIONS

We are back at it again with our ChopChat staff predictions. I don’t want to jinx the result of the game, but our staff has done a tremendous job thus far in predicting the outcome of the Seminoles’ games this season. Let’s hopefully see that continue as head football coach Mike Norvell and company get ready to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. Here are our score predictions for the contest:

-Taylor Devers: 45-10 FSU

-Kelvin Hunt: 41-14 FSU

-Jason Zang: 45-10 FSU

-Nick Andre: 45-14 FSU

It looks as though we have yet another clean sweep in favor of the Seminoles. Hopefully, FSU can start 5-0 to begin the season for the first time since 2015.
