FSU Offense Has To Find Running Game

FSU hasn’t run the ball well all season. Trey Benson led FSU running backs with 25 yards on seven carries.

FSU running backs only ran the ball 12 times, Jordan Travis ran it six, and Jaheim Bell got two carries(I still don’t know why).

I thought the return of Maurice Smith to the center position would help, but that wasn’t the case. Some of it was that FSU was playing the best defensive front they’ll see the rest of the season in Clemson.

Some of it is Jordan Travis isn’t 100 percent healthy and doesn’t seem to have that extra gear or willingness to run like he can when he’s healthy. Some of it is FSU running backs not hitting the right holes when they were there.

Mike Norvell’s offenses have always been able to run the ball, even when they didn’t have a good offensive line and quarterback play.

I think they’ll figure it out, and they’ll need to if they want to have a shot to win the rest of their games.
