Well, it looks like FSU football will play Boston College on Saturday at noon, despite the potential downgrade in weather amid Hurricane Lee off the Massachusetts coast.

As I mentioned earlier this week, Alumni Stadium is only about 9 miles away from the ocean, and weather from the storm will span 290 miles from the center.

The latest forecast will have the storm slightly northeast of the coast with the noon kickoff.

I probably wouldn’t risk wagering money on this game, but I know some degenerates need action! FSU holds steady as a -26 point betting favorite with an over/under points total at 48. Those odds imply a 37-11 FSU win.

I predicted FSU to beat LSU outright as underdogs and suggested taking FSU -6.5 after the first quarter against Southern Mississippi last week.

The team totals are interesting, with FSU at over 36.5 and Boston College at over 10.5. FSU football has scored over 35 points in eight straight games, dating back to last year.

Will they be able to throw the ball if it’s rainy and winds gusting 30+ mph? If not, can they run it down BC’s throat enough to score 37 points or more to win that bet? BC is terrible against the run, but if they know you’re likely to run it because of the weather, that’s problematic.

If FSU builds a lead and puts the backups in, could Boston College score a touchdown and make two field goals in those same wins to score over 10.5?

The point total for the game is interesting, especially if conditions are bad. I could see teams running the ball a ton, which keeps the clock moving, and the opportunity for field goals could be hampered significantly by the wind.

If I had to place a bet, I think the under 48 total is the one I’d take. Remember to bet responsibly!
