It’s that time of year again, where ESPN’s College GameDay show is back in session as they appeared for the North Carolina versus South Carolina showdown at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

During the show analysts predicted who they think will win a particular contest.

For reference, singer, guitarist, and songwriter Darius Rucker was selected as the special guest picker.

One of the biggest matchups of the college football slate is when the No. 8 Florida State Seminoles take on the No. 5 LSU Tigers on Sunday, September 3rd at 7:30 PM EST in Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The selection crew on College GameDay featured Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Darius Rucker, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit.

The commentators for the game will be Chris Fowler (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (analyst), and Holly Rowe (sideline reporter). Given that Herbstreit is calling the game, he couldn’t make predictions for the FSU-LSU content.

Here are the College GameDay picks for the game:

•Desmond Howard- Florida State

•Pat McAfee- LSU

•Darius Rucker- LSU

•Lee Corso- Florida State

ANALYSIS

Thankfully, the College GameDay crew did not select Florida State in a sweep like we did with our ChopChat staff score predictions). The LSU Tigers are currently two-point “road” favorites against the Seminoles. During the 2022 matchup, FSU got the better of LSU as they secured a 24-23 victory, which is now referred to as, “The Block on the Bayou.”

Florida State is riding a six-game winning streak and accomplished their first 10-win season as a program since 2016. But the question still remains: Can the Seminoles elevate their success from a season ago?

It is difficult to contain the excitement for the third straight early season matchup between head football coaches Mike Norvell and Brian Kelly. Both individuals have their programs trending in a very positive direction.
