I had FSU football at the top half of my preseason ACC Power Rankings, and I look like I was on the right track.

I don’t care how the ACC does out of conference, but ACC schools continue to beat SEC teams.

Miami moves up in the rankings after defeating Texas A&M and Wake Forest defeated Vanderbilt. I moved North Carolina down after their life and death win over Appalachian State at home.

Syracuse and Louisville beat up on two nobodies, and Pittsburgh lost to Cincinnati(I told you not worry about that Pittsburgh game).

Clemson was losing against Charleston Southern at halftime, but rallied to beat them by multiple scores. They better get it together fast, or they’re looking at 5-6 losses this season.

NC State lost to Notre Dame and Georgia Tech beat up on South Carolina State. Boston College almost lost to Holy Cross.

Anyways, here are my updated rankings after week two:

  1. FSU football
  2. Duke
  3. Miami (+1)
  4. North Carolina(-1)
  5. Syracuse (+1)
  6. Wake Forest (+1)
  7. Louisville (+1)
  8. Pittsburgh (-3)
  9. Clemson (+2)
  10. NC State
  11. Georgia Tech (+1)
  12. Virginia Tech (-3)
  13. Virginia
  14. Boston College

Week three is an awful schedule for the ACC. All the teams play a bunch of non-conference, uninteresting games or cupcakes.

For some reason, there are a bunch of B1G teams on deck. Louisville travels to Indiana, Minnesota travels to North Carolina, Northwestern travels to Duke, Virginia Tech travels to Rutgers, Syracuse travels to Purdue, and Virginia travels to Maryland Friday night.

Miami will host Bethune-Cookman on Thursday night, so it’s a short week for the Canes before traveling to play Temple in week four. It’ll be interesting to see how the ACC stacks up against the B1G after owning the SEC early this season.

FSU will travel to Boston College for a sleepy noon kickoff as near four touchdown betting favorites. Be sure to stay tuned to Chop Chat for more FSU football coverage and analysis.
