FSU football: Three-star commit Rydarrius Morgan trending to Alabama?
FSU football has been red hot on the recruiting trail this summer as they have obtained the following commitments in the months of July and August (rankings according to 247Sports Composite):
•Five-star S KJ Bolden
•Five-star CB Charles Lester III
•Four-star RB Micahi Danzy
•Four-star WR Elijah Moore
•Four-star OT Manasse Itete
•Four-star OT Jonathan Daniels
•Four-star DE DD Holmes
•Four-star CB Ricky Knight III
•Three-star OT Tye Hylton
•Three-star OT Jayden Todd
•Three-star LB Timir Hickman-Collins
•Three-star S Rydarrius Morgan
The perspective of FSU fans about recruiting has been quite positive, considering the abundance of highly-touted prospects that have pledged to the university. However, recruiting is ever-changing, and there are ebbs and flows to every recruitment.
On Wednesday morning, three-star safety commit Rydarrius Morgan has received four flip crystal ball predictions to the Alabama Crimson Tide from 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, Noles247 FSU Insiders Brendan Sonnone and Chris Nee, and Noles247 Contributor Zach Blostein.
Analysis
It is understandable to be concerned about the Alabama Crimson Tide with talented prospects, especially those residing in their state. However, this recruitment has seemed to move very quickly as Morgan has only been committed to the Seminoles since July 4th.
Could the talented defensive back believe he will have a better shot with Alabama, given that FSU secured the commitment of five-star safety KJ Bolden?
This could be a situation where the Seminoles did not feel comfortable where they stood with Bolden and opted to go with a safety prospect that they really liked in Rydarrius Morgan.
Does he prefer to stay closer to home? Ironically enough, Phenix City (AL) is closer to Tallahassee (FL) than it is to Tuscaloosa (AL).
Overall, I believe in defensive back coach Patrick Surtain’s ability to recruit at an above-average level. I am positive that he will find the right fit for the Seminoles’ defensive backfield.
