Perception

I mentioned it in the reaction piece I wrote last night. FSU has recruiting wins over every major program in this recruiting cycle, including Georgia.

It has been a combination of offering and getting players to commit before their recruiting blew up, to getting a guy to commit early, losing them to another team, and getting them to flip back. Some have been FSU fans for life.

KJ Bolden’s recruitment seemed to embody all of those things. However, FSU landing his commitment when most folks thought he would go to the in-state program an hour from his house is a game changer.

It’s one that even rival fans had to acknowledge on social media after pushing narratives Mike Norvell couldn’t recruit high school players over the past few years.

Everyone reacted differently from former FSU players, media talking heads, and FSU commits. Most of all, this commitment pushed FSU into an area they haven’t been this late in the game in over five plus years.

That’s a top five recruiting class. That changes things because it can change the messaging to the remaining targets on the recruiting board.
