FSU football had a lot of attention on five-star defensive back Charles Lester III’s commitment ceremony Friday night.

Would he choose FSU as most expected, or did a last-minute visit to Colorado swing the tide for new Colorado head coach Deion Sanders as it did two years ago?

In the end, Lester revealed he has been a silent commitment to FSU for a month, committing while on his official visit from June 16-18.

It was a jubilant time for FSU fans, with many keeping receipts on Twitter from Colorado fans who were confident Deion Sanders were going to grab another five-star defensive back.

After all, Sanders has signed two in the last two years with Travis Hunter and taking Cormani McClain away from Miami last year. FSU fans are among the mos ruthless on Twitter, and let it known who won this recruiting battle:

Thoughts

It was great to see FSU QB commit Luke Kromenhoek and his family drive a long distance to support Charles Lester, and Lester said it meant a lot to have their support. I

know Colorado fans say it’s not over until the Early Signing Period, and they’re right, technically. However I have no concerns with Lester flipping to that program, who’ll be lucky to win four games this season.

Lester mentioned he has already started recruiting other guys to join him in #Tribe24. As someone said in the reactions, this recruitment could lead to more big time recruits choosing the Noles down the stretch, and FSU has major targets remaining with only a few spots let in the class.

A few of them are on campus right now, or visited earlier this week. FSU will likely land another blue-chip target Saturday, which would move the Noles to No. 7 nationally with 19 commitments. It’s about to be scary hours in Tallahassee again!
