Casey Roddick

Colorado transfer Casey Roddick is the first transfer and big nasty to make the list. One of the issues for the offense I highlighted last season was the inability to move the line of scrimmage in predictable downs.

Roddick is a valuable transfer with the ability to play multiple positions. He has several years of starting experience, and enrolling in the spring provided more time to acclimate to the offense. He’ll likely play on the interior at either the guard spot or at the center position.

One thing about last season was the injury luck FSU had with center Maurice Smith. If he had been lost for the season with an injury as once feared before the season started, last year likely would have gone differently.

With Roddick in the fold, FSU has built in depth or a starter at three different positions along the offensive line. It’s a luxury they haven’t had in quite some time.
