Lawrance Toafili

Swiss Army knife weapon Lawrance Toafili might be one of the more underrated weapons in Mike Norvell’s offense.

While used somewhat sparingly last season behind Trey Benson and Treshaun Ward, Toafili turned in some nice performances.

He runs much harder between the tackles than folks want to give him credit for, and is a nightmare in the receiving game out of the backfield.

While I expect Rodney Hill to take away some of his potential increased rushing attempts, I think we’ll see more Toafili than we did last year overall.

One of the biggest issues for Toafili has been his inability to stay healthy for an entire season, but he looks to have added some more muscle to his sleight frame. The 2023 season could be the first time we see him surpass the 100 rushing attempts mark (he had 93 attempts last season).

It wouldn’t surprise to see him surpass 30 receptions either, since he had seven games with one or fewer last year. Like Poitier, this is his fourth year in Norvell’s offense, and that experience should pay dividends.
