Florida

  • 28.8 PPG
  • 5.92 YPP
  • 49 percent third down conversion allowed
  • 64.29 percent Red Zone TD percentage allowed
  • No. 59 FEI

Florida’s defense will have a new defensive coordinator in 29-year-old Austin Armstrong. Armstrong came to Florida from Southern Mississippi and coached with Billy Napier at Louisiana-Lafayette. Florida allowed 4.49 yards per rush last season and only had 23 sacks. They were awful on third downs and lost Gervon Dexter to the NFL.

They also lost Ventrell Miller and Amari Burney. However, they have some talent from the transfer portal, and Shemar James coming back. They also lost their top two tacklers from the secondary, Rashad Torrence and Trey Dean. However, they have two experienced players returning, and young incoming talent. I think Billy Napier will look to run the ball on offense, play ball control because they have suspect QB play, which should help the defense play limited snaps as well.
