FSU football currently ranks No. 8 in the 2024 247Sports Composite rankings, with 11 prospects committed to the class.

We at ChopChat are starting a series where we will be conducting recruiting Q&As with a variety of FSU targets/commits.

The first we have conducted a Q&A with is Class of 2024 Florida State three-star defensive tackle commit Jamorie Flagg from Booker T. Washington Senior High School in Miami, Florida.

Flagg made his presence known during his junior season, where he recorded eight sacks and 22 tackles for loss.

Q: What are some things that you like to do in your free time away from the football field?

A: ”Some things that I like to do outside of football are to cook, play video games, and enjoy time with my family.”

Q: Was there anything/anyone that inspired you to play the game of football?

A: ”People that inspired me to play football was my uncle and father. Since the age of 4, I fell in love with the game and it took off from there.”

Q: As you approach your senior season, is there any aspect of your game that you want to improve on?

A: “As my senior season approaches, I want to work on more pass rush moves and improve a little more in that area.”

Q: You committed to Florida State back on December 14, 2022. What went into your decision of choosing the Seminoles?

A: ”The things that went into me choosing the Seminoles over every other school was that they were always in contact with me. They were checking in on me from my school work to on and off the field and even having talks with me to give me a better understanding of the game. They just showed that they really cared and wanted a future with me. They never lost hope in me and I thank them for that.”

Q: You recently visited FSU for an unofficial visit back in the month of March. How did you like the visit? Was there anything that stood out to you?

A: ”I really enjoyed the visit. Some things that stood out the most to me was the way that coach (Mike) Norvell interacted with his players. He’s big on not just football, but school and the future (outside of football) for his players.”

Q: Do you have a return visit coming up with FSU anytime soon? Or do you have any schools that you want to visit?

A: “I’m still working on setting up another visit, but I will be up there for the camp on June 21.”

Q: What assistant coach on staff communicates with you the most? And what position are the Seminoles recruiting you as? Defensive tackle, defensive end, hybrid?

A: ”I communicate the most with coach (Randy) Shannon and coach Odell (Haggins) the most. I’m being recruited as a defensive tackle.”

Q: Do you have any parting thoughts to tell Nole Nation?

A: ”For the NOLE nation, I love all of you guys. I love the support and I can’t wait to bring a natty back to Tally once I’m there! 🍢🍢“
