FSU football received a prediction for four-star defensive end recruit Dylan Stephenson on Wednesday morning. On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons logged an expert prediction with a confidence level of 60% out of 100% to FSU for the Columbus High School in Miami, Florida.

At this moment, the only defensive lineman that the Seminoles have committed to their 2024 recruiting class is three-star defensive tackle Jamorie Flagg from Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, Florida. However, the Seminoles would like to add at least two quality pass rushers to their class.

Four-star Dylan Stephenson seems to be at the top of the target board as he will officially visit Florida State on June 23, 2023, which is the only official visit he has scheduled. The Seminoles noticed the talent of the Columbus High School standout early on in his recruitment, so they decided to offer on March 2, 2021. The interest was mutual between the pass rusher and the coaching staff, as Stephenson has visited the FSU campus four times since receiving the offer from the Seminoles.

During his last two seasons at Columbus High School, he recorded 98 total tackles (20 tackles for loss) and 20 sacks. It is important to note that the hometown Miami Hurricanes are also involved in his recruitment as well. Ironically enough, the head football coach for the Hurricanes (Mario Cristobal) played high school football at Columbus High School. The relationships that Cristobal has with that high school and being a former player should assist him with having a realistic chance in the sweepstakes with Stephenson.

However, if head football coach Mike Norvell and company land a high-touted pass rusher out of his own backyard and prevent him from signing with the hometown Miami Hurricanes, then that would be a massive recruiting victory for this coaching staff.
