FSU football hasn’t won the ACC Title since the 2014 season. Let that sink in, nearly a decade, not to mention they haven’t even played in the ACC Championship Game since then. Clemson has largely run the conference since overtaking the Noles with some help from the referees in 2016.

However, oddsmakers don’t think that’s the case as we head into the summer months before the 2023 season. The Noles are the betting favorites to win the conference, followed closely by Clemson.

The next closest team is North Carolina, and everyone else is a virtual long shot.

FSU will travel to Clemson in week four and could face them again in the ACC Championship game if they both run the table the rest of the way. However, to win this bet, that would win FSU would potentially have to defeat Clemson twice.

Fan Reaction

The early game should slightly favor the Noles even though it’s on the road. I’m not saying FSU will be the betting favorite in that game, just that Clemson will have a new QB and offensive coordinator looking to work out some kinks. FSU returns more production than anyone in the country, with several starters literally on both sides of the ball.

Other than Clemson, FSU has more talent than any other ACC team on its schedule. They have the best QB and arguably the best offensive and defensive line in the conference. Johnny Wilson and Trey Benson were First-Team All-ACC selections, and the Noles return a lot of experience on the defensive line and linebacker positions.

The only position in question is safety, and FSU football coaches are looking to make at least one addition from the transfer portal to address that need. However, the offense might be so explosive that it won’t matter what they do on defense. It’s a risky bet because injuries happen and a bet like this doesn’t care if you lose your best player or something during the season. Bet responsibly!
