Kyle Morlock

FSU football fans were ecstatic when they landed Kyle Morlock from the transfer portal. The tight end position has been one to draw the ire of FSU football fans in recent years.

Morlock looked the part but came from a smaller school in Georgia, so the question was whether would he be able to adapt to the competition level at FSU.

I thought of Morlock as more of a guy that would play some in 2023 but probably ascend to a difference-maker in 2024.

I don’t know if he’ll be a difference-maker in 2023, but I think he can contribute more than I thought he would when he first arrived in Tallahassee. He’s incredibly fluid for someone his size but likely needs to get bigger and play with a little more physicality in the run game.

However, he’s got all summer and fall to hit the weight room to get bigger and stronger. The question marks about him adapting to the level of competition are no longer.

Morlock on the field at the same time as Johnny Wilson and Jaheim Bell could pose nightmares for opposing defenses.
