Jordan Travis

Jordan Travis is the x-factor. FSU could have done exactly the same thing in the transfer portal as they’ve done, and I wouldn’t be writing this article had Jordan Travis not decided to return for 2023.

Good to elite quarterback play can hide flaws in a team. FSU shouldn’t have many flaws, and Jordan Travis is a good to elite college quarterback. The progression he has made over the last 21 games is something I have never seen before or expected.

I expected him to be better in 2022 than in 2021, but I didn’t expect what I saw. I don’t know if we can expect another huge jump in his play, but he gives FSU a fighting chance against any team out there.

However, there is a good reason to expect to see him take another jump in 2023. The offensive line should be better.

The running back and wide receiver units return a lot of production. The tight end unit has playmakers, and Jordan Travis will be in going into his fourth year in the Mike Norvell offense. Lesser talented players have put up prolific numbers in their fourth year in Mike Norvell’s offense in past years.

The trust should be there to allow Jordan Travis to shoulder more of the load. If that’s the case, we could see Jordan Travis making the trip as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Teams with quarterbacks playing at that level typically win lots of games.
