FSU football might have had the two most dominating performances over the past two weeks.

The Noles crushed the Miami Hurricanes and the Syracuse Orange on the road by a combined score of 83-6.

We knew Miami was terrible, but Syracuse had a lot of hype(undeservedly) earlier in the year as they won their first six games.

The latter played their starting quarterback, so there is no excuse for them not having all of their offensive weapons.

The game was never close, and FSU fans spent most of the game in great spirits while rooting for guys that don’t get to play that often to get into the game.

Check out their reactions to the blowout win:

Thoughts

Here’s what I said in my preview and prediction of the game:

"This game is more about FSU football than Syracuse. If FSU comes in focused and doesn’t turn the ball over, it’s a game they should win and cover the touchdown spread."

I never thought Syracuse was as good as they record, and I knew they were dealing with some injuries on defense.

The reactions from the fans were great, and it feels like this team and program matured a great deal over the past year and a half. The ability to win back-to-back road games, especially blowing out Syracuse after the big win over Miami.

FSU showed they could do it last year against Boston College but never allowed Syracuse to make it a game like they did last year at Boston College.

Trey Benson ran through Syracuse like old folks taking castor oil. FSU wide receivers bullied Syracuse’s defensive backs like they were their little brothers.

The FSU defensive line ate Syracuse up all night, with three sacks and eight tackles for a loss. It was also the second straight game the defense had a takeaway. Special teams were awesome again, giving FSU a great field position for most of the game.

The Noles are playing as well as anyone in the country and should see themselves enter the top 20 when polls release.
