The Fumble

Clemson kicked the field goal to take a 17-14 lead, and there was 1:51 remaining before the half, with Clemson getting the ball first in the second half. The Noles run two plays and get the ball to mid-field with 1:15 remaining.

FSU runs for a loss of two on the first down, which sets up 2nd and 12 with 47 seconds remaining, and Jordan Travis fumbles the ball while getting sacked at the FSU 42-yard line.

I said before the game, FSU couldn’t turn the ball over, or they would need to break even in the turnover department for a chance to win the game.

That turnover turns into a touchdown for Clemson. The final six minutes of the second quarter went turnover on downs and a fumble turning into 10 points for Clemson to lead 24-14 at the half.

I know people want to blame the defense, but the offense wastes too many opportunities and puts the defense in bad positions on the field way too often. The FSU offense was putting themselves in good positions to get points on both of those possessions and failed to execute.
