FSU football: 5 takeaways from blowout win over Boston College

Jordan Travis Might Be Best QB In The ACC
I can’t say enough about the development of Jordan Travis as a quarterback. There were a couple of times when Jordan Travis had to use his legs to escape pressure.
However, the days of Jordan Travis running 15 times per game seem to be over. He only had one rush for 16 yards in the game. The biggest difference is his ability to command the offense and convert third downs at will.
Travis only completed 61.5 percent of his passes, but there were at least 2-3 drops from his receivers. The Noles ultimately converted 5 of 12 third-down opportunities and were 1 of 3 on fourth downs.
All this was done through three quarters while building a large lead. Opposing defenses used to be able to stack the box to force Jordan Travis to throw the ball, which was the weakest part of his game.
However, his improvement in passing has made the FSU offense difficult to prepare for because he doesn’t have to run to be successful anymore.
The great thing is Jordan Travis can run if he needs to, and there isn’t a quarterback in the ACC who can do both at the level he can.
