FSU football ran roughshod over Boston College in the first half of their 44-14 win. Trey Benson took the opening kickoff back 93 yards for a touchdown.

A lot of folks complained about the FSU defense against Louisville, but they answered the bell in the first half.

They held Boston College scoreless and forced two turnovers. The first happened on Boston Collegeโ€™s first offensive possession, and the FSU offense cashed in on a one-yard touchdown run by Lawrance Toafili for a 14-0 lead.

The Noles scored on their first three offensive possessions, with kick Ryan Fitzgerald making a 30-yard field goal that should have been a confidence booster.

FSU finished the first half with a 31-yard touchdown grab by Kentron Poitier.

The Noles averaged 7.43 ypp, and Jordan Travis had 249 passing yards in the first half. The FSU defense held Boston College to 64 total yards and 2.37 ypp.

2nd Half

Boston College received the ball to open the third quarter, and the FSU defense forced a punt once the Eagles reached the FSU 49-yard line.

Jordan Travis hit Ontaria Wilson for a 72-yard gain, which set up a 22-yard touchdown run by Treshaun Ward to make it 37-0 (Fitzgerald hit the uprights on the extra point attempt).

Boston College finally found the end zone with 3:31 remaining in the third quarter to make it 37-7. Tate Rodemaker replaced Jordan Travis with three minutes remaining in the third quarter. The Noles got on the board for the final time on a 36-yard touchdown run by Trey Benson. It was his second rushing touchdown.

Jordan Travis finished the game 16 of 26 for 321 yards and one touchdown. Darion Williamson led all receivers with five receptions and 98 yards. The Noles move to 4-0 and will welcome Wake Forest to Doak Campbell Stadium next Saturday.
