BC’s Offensive Line Against The Pass

Remember how I said the Boston College offensive line got devastated? Well, their patchwork line not only can’t run block, but they can’t protect quarterback Phil Jurkovec either.

They have allowed 25 tackles for a loss and 12 sacks through the first three games. Their opponents have been Rutgers, Virginia Tech, and Maine.

If Jared Verse isn’t able to compete Saturday night, this would have been a game where he could have padded his stats somewhat.

I’m interested to see if Derrick McLendon will go off in this game. I wonder if Patrick Payton or Byron Turner Jr. can make their presence felt. Boston College’s offense consists mostly of Jurkovec looking to get the ball to their top receiver, Zay Flowers.

Flowers had a big game against FSU football last season with Jarvis Brownlee defending, go figure.

Flowers has 22 receptions for 285 yards and three touchdowns this season. It’s not like FSU hasn’t faced talented receivers this year, and the defensive line getting pressure on Jurkovec will be key.
