No BC Running Game

This aspect of the game is one I’m fascinated to watch based on some of the narratives some media is trying to push after the Louisville game.

The stats say FSU is struggling to stop the run, but that’s mostly due to playing two of the better running quarterbacks nationally in back-to-back games.

One of Louisville’s running backs had more success than we’d expect, but it’s the same as when teams face FSU, and Jordan Travis’s threat to run helps open things up for our running game. Boston College has been awful running the ball thus far.

They average 1.66 yards per rush, and their top running back averages 2.88 yards per rush. Their offensive line got devastated by injuries in the offseason, and they were not great, to begin with, so their struggles to run the ball should continue.

It’s not clear if Fabien Lovett, Malcolm Ray, or Jared Verse will play on the defensive line. So this should be a good indicator of where the defensive line is either way.

If those guys are out, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dennis Briggs playing more defensive tackle than defensive end.
