FSU football fans were more confident in the FSU offense than the FSU defense going into week three’s game on the road against Louisville.

I wrote about how Adam Fuller’s defense should be fine against the Cardinals earlier last week and how the last two games had no bearing on this year.

However, during the game, it felt like the FSU defense got entirely too much hate on social media. I’ve heard some podcasts falsely report the defense didn’t play well until near the end of the game.

I spoke about the defense-in-depth on the podcast released Sunday night(make sure you subscribe). However, I wanted to give a little more of an analytic look for a clearer picture.

Was the defense flawless? Of course not. I said Malik Cunningham would make some plays because he’s that good.

I banked on Louisville not having enough talent around him to be enough to beat the Noles, and I was right.

Not to mention, I didn’t know FSU football would be without three defensive starters(Fabien Lovett, Jared Verse, and Omarion Cooper) for the game.

Lovett didn’t play, Verse got injured early, and Cooper didn’t play much. Let’s get into how the defense performed against Louisville.
