FSU football: 5 huge takeaways from upset win over LSU

Jordan Travis The Real Deal
I can’t say enough about the development of Jordan Travis as a quarterback. He was the player I wanted to see most against better competition.
He made strides against some OK defenses in the final three games of last season. I saw the Duquesne game and thought he looks different than last year because of his calmness in the pocket and not running immediately as he felt the pressure.
However, the way he operated Sunday night, and let’s be clear, he was surgical most of the night against a talented defense. Jordan Travis playing at this level can take FSU football to heights they haven’t seen since 2016.
Granted, this team doesn’t have a Dalvin Cook in the backfield, but it has some weapons that can do damage. Jordan Travis spoke about his confidence going into the season and how comfortable he was executing the entire offense.
It has shown in the first two games. He’s not putting the ball in harm’s way, and he’s making smart decisions of when to use his legs or when to keep his eyes downfield.
I thought we’d see an improved Jordan Travis, but I didn’t think he would be THIS good this early. Jordan Travis will make this offense a big problem for opposing defenses.
